Super Storm!!! ...dangerous storm moving across the Bering Sea for Alas
In this satellite image released by the National Weather Service, a dangerous storm moving across the Bering Sea for Alaska, Tuesday Nov. 8, 2011, is seen. The National Weather Service says the storm is expected to produce at least a 10-foot surge, forcing dozens of coastal communities to make emergency preparations. The last time forecasters saw something similar was in November 1974, when Nome, Alaska also took the brunt of the storm. That surge measured more than 13 feet, pushing beach driftwood above the level of the previous storm of its type in 1913.
